Join us for a five-day summer camp in San Clemente, CA, where students entering 3rd grade through graduated 8th grade will learn and perform The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition!
Camp Details:
When: June 29 - July 3, 9am-3pm
Where: San Clemente, CA (Final location TBA)
Who: incoming 3rd graders - graduated 8th graders
Auditions:
In order to give our directorial team ample time to cast the show, video auditions should be submitted by Saturday 6/27. More information will be sent via email following registration.
Weekly Schedule:
Monday: Casting & Read-through
Everyone will receive a role in the production! We will conduct a read-and-sing-through of the show. Students will learn group numbers.
Tuesday: Learning the Show
As they work to memorize their lines at home, the cast will begin learning the show, breaking off into small groups with the directors, choreographer, and music director.
Wednesday: Rehearsing the Show
Students will continue to block the show. They will work in both small and large groups, focusing on character development, line delivery, and singing and dancing techniques.
Thursday: Final Touches
Students will finish learning the final scenes and songs of the show. They will start incorporating technical elements and run numbers with the whole cast.
Friday: Tech/Dress Rehearsal
Our directors will conduct what is known as a “cue-to-cue” dress rehearsal in the theater, incorporating all the necessary technical elements. The students will run the show in its entirety to prepare for performances.
Friday Performances: Performances will be held at 3pm and 6pm. Doors open 30 minutes prior. Seating reservations will be available online starting Monday 6/29!
Tuition: The cost of the camp is $375 per student, which includes all materials and costumes for the performance (except footwear).
